Twenty years old and looking for a challenge, Kevin eagerly enlisted in the Navy. For eleven years, he worked hard and served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan during his time. After he separated from the Navy, Kevin joined the National Guard and went to school to earn his undergraduate degree in Psychology and then his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Currently working various roles in counseling and program development, Kevin thrives on assisting others on their mental health journey. Soon, however, he realized his lingering PTSD was impacting his life and he entered a hospital-based program that was specifically designed to help military veterans. The lost wages due to taking an unpaid leave to attend almost stopped Kevin from participating in the program. He contacted SALUTE, and we were able to pay his mortgage and allow him freedom from financial worries as he began his own journey to wellness.
