Matthew, a OIF veteran and former US Navy Diver, sustained multiple injuries during active duty, including a traumatic brain injury. The sole support of his family, Matthew was going through rehabilitation for his injuries. During this period, the family’s income was severely stressed and they reached out to SALUTE for assistance. SALUTE provided gift cards for food, car payments to prevent repossession and rent payments to keep the family of five safely housed. Matthew is now attending a VA vocational rehabilitation course to improve his career opportunities and his family is in a secure financial situation.
