RESERVIST DEDICATION

RESERVIST DEDICATION

Paul has dedicated over 20 years in service to his country as an active member of  the U.S. Army Reserve.  Troubled by PTSD symptoms, Paul identified a hospital-based mental health program that would help him develop tools to deal with his unresolved issues and injuries. Paul had already begun the program when he found out that his employer would not pay him during the two-week duration of the program.  Uncertain if he could afford to continue the program, Paul reached out to SALUTE, and we were able to assist with two mortgage payments.  The mortgage payments allowed Paul to continue his journey to mental wellness, thereby removing a financial barrier to care for this soldier.

It has been a big relief to me and my family to know that even though my short-term disability was denied by my employer, our finances won’t suffer because I am not receiving my normal paycheck while I am in this program for these two weeks. Thanks to SALUTE and their support, it has relieved that stress so I am able to focus on getting the help I need for my PTSD. I had planned to leave the program early due to the financial burden, however , thanks to SALUTE, I will be able to finish the program and graduate this Friday. Hope you like the picture of my family. Your support will help to keep smiles on each of our faces.”                              Reservist Paul
