Three long years in the Army, including time served in Afghanistan, took a toll on Russell. Retiring due to complications from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, along with other injuries, Russell and his family began a new phase of life. Russell’s injuries required a full-time caregiver and his wife stepped up for that responsibility. Still struggling to find firm financial footing, Russell and his wife reached out to SALUTE, requesting help with car loan payments. Knowing how important transportation is to the busy family and recovering soldier, SALUTE provided several car payments.
