Assignments in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay were just some of the many places Carson served in his 24 year career with the Army National Guard. Carson retired from the Army in 2025, suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other ailments. Looking for help with his PTSD, Carson enrolled in a mental health program not far from his home. The end of his military service and his transition to civilian life caused some financial upheavals too. Carson reached out to SALUTE for help with the mortgage on the home he shares with his wife and children. SALUTE was able to pay one month’s mortgage, helping to relieve Carson’s financial stress as he concentrates on healing from his PTSD.
“As a veteran, it means a great deal to know that organizations like SALUTE, INC. and the caring donors behind it continue to look out for those that served. Your generosity not only eased a financial burden but also reminded me that there are people and communities who genuinely care and stand ready to support veterans during challenging times. “ SSGT Carson, Army National Guard (Retired)
