Like far too many servicemen and women returning home from their tours of duty, Dayn had trouble escaping his past. While his combat duty was recognized with a Purple Heart, Dayn was having less success receiving benefits from the VA. Because the PTSD/TBI was preventing him from working, he was unable to cover the cost of even basic necessities. The situation was only compounded by the arrival of his first child. Dayn reached out to SALUTE, and we were able to assist with car payments, auto insurance and rent. Today, Dayn has received a 100% VA disability and was recently able to buy a home in Washington state for his young family. He recently wrote to us saying:
