Army Sergeant First Class Kathy served as a Nurse Specialist for over 20 years. During her time in the Army, Kathy traveled to Iraq and other countries, working in emergency nursing care as needed. Her lengthy service resulted in numerous injuries which led to permanent disability. Retired from the service in early 2020 and still waiting to receive her disability pay, Kathy’s family of five experienced a financial crisis and were unable to pay their bills. Referred to SALUTE by her VA case worker, we were able to assist with her utilities, car payments and insurance. Kathy wrote:
I cannot adequately express my thanks to SALUTE, INC. for your generosity. Your personnel were very patient and understanding. They worked very quickly with my case, as they are very familiar with the Military and VA system. This decreased my stress and anxiety levels enormously. They made me feel that they were more than happy and willing to assist me and were truly thankful for my service. I will definitely pay it forward to your organization when I am in the position to, knowing my donation will be used with a caring and giving heart through your organization.
