Staff Sergeant Sarah devoted over 18 years to the US Army, working as an IT specialist. Following her retirement from the service, Sarah worked on taking care of her two teenage sons and furthering her education. She was a successful independent IT consultant, as well as a part-time teacher at a nearby university.
When the COVID-19 pandemic started, Sarah lost many of her clients and her teaching position. Financial stress was aggravated by unresolved Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other health concerns connected to her military service. Seeking to gain insight and relief from her PTSD , Sarah enrolled in an intensive out-patient (IOP) program with the VA.
SALUTE was happy to help Sarah and her family with car payments and utilities in order to tide them over the unemployment period. Sarah is looking forward to completing the IOP program and regaining full-time employment as soon as possible.
