Forty -five deployed paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army were returning home to Ft. Bragg. Away from base for many months, the soldiers were looking forward to a reunion with family and friends and a safe, warm bed to sleep in. Unfortunately, the soldiers were in need of sheets, blankets and pillows to provide that warm bed. One of SALUTE INC.’s partners in military assistance, Packages for Patriots, contacted SALUTE to see if we could help the paratroopers. Without assistance, the first thing the soldiers would have to do on return to base is go to the store and buy the bedding themselves. SALUTE was happy to help the returning paratroopers, and for under $900, all of the bedding was purchased and a well-deserved good night’s sleep provided for all.
