Start Early! As soon as you sign up, start your fundraising efforts.
 
1. Active.com - Follow the instructions to set up your fundraising page at active.com
 E-mail everyone you know with the link to your active page and to the Salute website.
2. Corporate Matching – Many employers offer matching funds programs. Your $50 donation could turn into $100. Inquire with your personnel/HR department to complete the paperwork required to get your gift matched.
3. Start a Facebook Campaign page. Tell your story and guide people to your website.
4. In Lieu of Gifts -Ask for donations instead of birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, etc.
5. Make business cards or flyers with your story. Make sure to include your active.com site website.
6. Garage Sale – Clean out your house and garage. Set up a Team Salute donation booth. Ask your friends and neighbors to donate their stuff to you to help increase your funds.
7. Messages - Change you answering machine and voicemail mention Team Salute and how someone can make a donation.
8. Have a Wine Tasting Party. Ask your local wine store if they host wine tasting events, invite friends, and have a cover charge at the door.
9. Write Letters. Send a letter in the mail to friends, family, and co-workers asking for their support. Let them know if you are walking in honor of someone. Explain why the cause is important to you; heartfelt messages get the best response. Don’t forget to send a thank you note to people who donate.
10. Email Signature – add your active link to all of your business and personal email signatures.
11. Every $ Counts-Gimmie $5.00 or $10.00. Ask a lot of people for small donations.

 FYI:
• When donations are made through active.com, the donor is automatically sent a receipt of donation from active. If donations are mailed in, please make sure that donors note your name on the check. We'll keep track of them and record them on to your fundraising page and send them a donation thank you letter. Please remind your donor to add their email address. SALUTE, INC. is going green and  are sending tax exempt letters to emails.
