Amanda and her 5 soccer teammates along with Coach Dan Dein and all the parents will be travelling around the country all summer and will end up playing in the National Disney tournament in January, 2011. “Soccer for Soldiers” will be their slogan. Our friends, Will & Mary Beth Beiersdorf, started Salute, Inc., a not for profit organization whose mission is to raise funds for soldiers and their families. Attached are some pictures of the girls from their first tournament win in Council Bluffs , IA where they outscored their opponents 60-3 in 5 victories. The Chevy sponsor on hand at the tournament made signs for the girls and cheered us on to victory. The best part was actually having a handful of veterans over the course of the weekend individually ask us what Team Salute was all about and getting an opportunity to thank them for their service. They were very touched, but not as much as we were. The girls are obtaining pledges for $1/goal or other monetary donations and 100% of the funds raised will go to Salute, Inc.!!
1. Corporate Matching – Many employers offer matching funds programs. Your $50 donation could turn into $100. Inquire with your personnel/HR department to complete the paperwork required to get your gift matched.
2. In Lieu of Gifts -Ask for donations instead of birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, etc.
3. Garage Sale – Clean out your house and garage. Set up a SALUTE, INC. donation booth. Ask your friends and neighbors to donate their stuff to you to help increase your funds.
4. Host a Wine Tasting Party - Ask your local wine store if they host wine tasting events, invite friends, and have a cover charge at the door.
5. Car Wash – Talk to your local Boy Scout troop, high school students, or teen church organizations and ask them to host a car wash with the proceeds going to SALUTE, INC. Programs.
6. Fun Run – Have your school host a fun run. Entry fees would be a donation to SALUTE, INC. An option could be added to sponsor a runner.
7. Chain of Thanks – Have your school host a Chain of Thanks Fundraiser! For a minimum donation, you can purchase a red, white, or blue paper link. Your goal is to make the chain wrap around your school! This is a great way to thank the soldiers and veterans who have fought for our freedom.
8. Bake Sale – Have your church or Girl Scout troop host a bake sale.
9. Wear Red, White, & Blue Day – Show your patriotic colors by wearing America’s colors. Need to designate a dollar amount for donation.
Please remind your donor to add their email address. SALUTE, INC. is going green and we are sending all tax deductable letters/receipts to emails. Have them send the check to:
